Beloved friends, today we are looking at the Law that set ones free since there are several laws.
We spent so many years in school studying diverse laws including the law of gravity, the laws of motion, thermodynamics, economics etc. But there is a superior law we ought to pay much more attention to, Apostle Paul calls it the law of the spirit of life.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2).
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matt 5:18
In both the Old and New Testaments, the word “law” focuses on the commands and regulations of the Mosaic covenant. In most instances the word law does not refer to instruction in a general sense but concentrates on what God demands that his people do. In both the Old and New Testaments this is apparent, for verbs like “keep” and “do” are linked with the law.
This is how it works, Anything that should by any chance come into God’s thoughts or imaginations becomes a law, and it becomes unstoppable when he proceeds to actually speak it forth. God’s word is so powerful that it cannot be reversed by anyone else but by God himself. Once it is spoken it goes into action to accomplish the purposes of God at the same instant.
This law supercedes every other law known to govern human existence and would even break such laws if they are to in any way hinder the fulfilment of God’s word.
No wonder the Psalmist says: The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. Ps, 19:7.
This tells us that only the law of the Lord has power to convert a soul to God and we need to desire this law of God that supercede any other laws in the cosmos.
In Isaiah 55:11 God says that his words will not return to him void…But will accomplish the purpose for which it has been sent. Has God spoken anything to you at anytime? God’s word is more than a mere word, it’s a law!
Know this today that it is sure to accomplish it’s purposes in your life, it cannot be limited by any force or law known to mind. God’s word is equal only to God himself God’s word has utmost fidelity God’s word is insured by God himself you can bank on God’s word today, any day and every day. May we love the law of God above all things in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
