Jesus- Your Complete Insurance

Jesus- Your Complete Insurance

Beloved i will like you to read this  thought provoking and powerful write up   from –Kim  Richards  and it goes thus: I was at the grocery store  today and heard a loud crash and something shattering. Being nosy, I walked towards the sound and saw some people whispering and looking back to the end of the next aisle. When I walked down that aisle, I saw an older lady had hit a shelf containing dishes with her cart and many had fallen to the ground and broke. She was kneeling on the floor embarrassed, frantically picking up the shattered pieces, while her husband was peeling off the bar code from each broken dish saying “Now we will have to pay for all this!”

I felt so bad for her, and everyone was just standing there staring at her!! I went and knelt beside her and told her not to worry and started helping her pick up the broken pieces. After about a minute, the store manager came and knelt beside us and said, “Leave it, we will clean this up. Let’s get your information so you can go to the hospital and have that cut on your hand looked at.” The lady, totally embarrassed said, “I need to pay for all  this first.” The manager smiled, helped her to her feet and said, “No ma”, we have insurance for this, you do not have to pay anything!”

For you who have read this so far, I would like you to give me a minute. Wherever you are, just close your eyes, and imagine God doing the same for you! Collect the pieces of your broken heart from all the blows life has thrown at you. God will heal all your wounds, and assure you that your sins and mistakes will be forgiven. You see, we all have the same insurance, and it’s called Grace from the finished work. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and ask for forgiveness, the Manager of the universe, GOD, will say to you “Everything has already been paid for, now go on your way, all is forgiven!”

Beloved this is what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you and I, He paid all the debt in full to set us free and insured us with his precious blood, remember on the cross Jesus said it is finished. “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.‘ With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” (John 19:30)

Jesus’ journey had begun in a simple stable in the City of David thirty some years before. Now it was finished.

                        What Did Jesus  Finish?

What was finished? What was this mission that was now finished? Why did Jesus come? Let’s look at how Jesus defined his mission —  and later, how his apostles understood it. We read about his commission to “preach the Gospel to the poor” (Luke 4:18, 43), “to bring life” (John 10:10b), “to destroy the  works of satan” (1 John 3:8b), “to bring fire upon the earth,” (Luke 12:49),“to testify  to the truth” (John 18:37). But each of these seems like a means or aspect of the ultimate purpose, to save us from our sins. Consider these purpose statement verses below:

“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.” (Luke 19:10)

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” (1 Timothy 1:15)

“But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins.” (1 John 3:5)

It is clear from Matthew and Mark that just before Jesus breathed his last, he “cried out again in a loud voice” (Matthew 27:50,  Mark 15:37). John gives us the content of this loud cry: “It is finished!”

Those who are defeated go out with a whimper, but the victor announces his victory loudly and broadly: “It is finished!” The victory shout of Jesus echoed across the small flat hilltop and to the world beyond. It is finished! Your sin was paid for so you don’t have to live any longer for sin. You need to come to terms with this reality of Jesus “ IT IS FINISHED.

Prayer

Father, I’ve wasted much of the momentum of my life because I’ve tried to go in so many directions. Please corral me so that I will focus on your purposes and your direction for me, that I might finish this life well. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
